WHAT IS BRC

Winter 2004

Thank you to our friends and supporters for a very successful Art of Healing exhibit and reception in January, which featured multimedia artwork by clients of BRC’s Reception Center, as well as readings and performances by author Danny Simmons and two accomplished poets. While the event fell on the coldest day in 100 years, more than 75 people came out to the Delancey Street Senior Center to celebrate the healing powers of art and spoken word.

On January 30, BRC’s Continuing Day Treatment Program held a graduation luncheon for three formerly homeless clients who have reached their goals in the program and are ready to move on to other life activities. Congratulations to our clients!

BRC is pleased to welcome Alex Cohen, Associate Director at Cushman and Wakefield, to its Board of Directors. Alex brings over 15 years of experience in real estate and urban planning to BRC.

You can now shop at the BRC on-line “store” (hosted by Cafe Press.com) and purchase great products with BRC’s logo—like T-shirts, courier bags, and mugs– and donate to BRC at the same time. Check out our store link on the Support BRC page.

BRC’s 2003 Annual Report is now available. To receive a copy, e-mail your request to [email protected].

WATCH THIS SPACE for more information about Jobs at BRC and our new Volunteer Program! We’ll be adding two new pages in the coming months to help you learn more about these opportunities at BRC.
