BRC Assumes Responsibility of Harlem Residence

On July 1, BRC assumed control of The Boulevard, a 101-bed residence for homeless men living with mental illness, which had been run by another nonprofit unable to survive the times. Our record of success, reputation for effective and efficient management, and robust array of complementary services made BRC the obvious choice. Our admiration goes out to the nonprofit who selected BRC, for their sense of responsibility to their clients and their desire to ensure continuity for their program; and the Bloomberg Administration and the Department of Homeless Services for their support in making this transition possible.

BRC Provides Outreach Services for the Downtown Alliance

On July 20, BRC became the homeless outreach provider for the Downtown Alliance, the Business Improvement District (BID) encompassing much of Manhattan below Chambers Street. This marks the second BID (the East Midtown Partnership being the first) that has chosen BRC to be its homeless outreach service provider. Stimulus Dollars Help Expand Moving Home Program

BRC has been selected by the NYC Department of Homeless Services to receive a grant of Federal stimulus dollars to house chronically homeless individuals. With these funds, BRC will be expanding the current 50-bed Moving Home program by an additional 65 beds for homeless individuals living in the transit system. All of these individuals will be referred into the Moving Home program through BRC’s current outreach operations, further enhancing BRC’s programmatic integration and strengthening the array of services available to our outreach teams.
